During an overnight trip to Kapiti Island, I met this little guy – a North Island Robin/Toutouwai, checking us out on our way to one of the outlooks. Unlike most birds, the North Island Robin are a very curious and friendly creature, often standing very close to humans, waiting for them to disturb the ground for insects.
